The Book of General Knowledge

What is this book?

The Book of General Knowledge covers everything you need to know to better understand the world around you. Subjects include history, art, money, business, politics, law, math, and science.

Most topics fit into one page, providing you with enough information to give you a general understanding of the subject without taking too much of your time. It is a modern take on encyclopedias of the past.

Why was this book written?

The idea for this book came about because of the surprising absence of a contemporary source of information that offers a cohesive, core, “life curriculum” as a guide to what every person should know. At the time of writing this book, most books and online content about general knowledge were more in the quiz or “fun fact” formats, which was not quite “it”.

The Book of General Knowledge aims to make it easy and enjoyable for anyone to expand their knowledge across a variety of subjects through concise topics, engaging visuals, and “aesthetic” presentation.

The topics in this book include things you may have learned at school or university, events you see referenced in museums or monuments, famous art, and terms you come across when reading the news.

Its design was inspired by vintage bookstores in London, where you can find beautiful, high-quality books from centuries ago that still stand the test of time.
